Diplomacy and Compromise in the UN Society
Founded on the idea that diplomacy and compromise is always superior to violence and threat, the United Nations seeks to make concrete steps towards creating a more peaceful, and more prosperous, world for all humanity. This global enterprise may seem distant, and almost utopian. At Durham United Nations Society, however, we seek to engage directly with the ideals and approaches of the UN.
The Independent Group: A Necessary Realignment of British Politics
We are living in one of the greatest periods of social change ever in the history of humanity, and yet our political system has been the same since the 1980s (arguably even the 1920s). So, to me it is only right that we are seeing changes as politics tries to catch up with society.
