Aloha! For those of you that do not know, my name is Hugo and I am a lawyer in my second year in Trevs. Towards the end of summer term last year I realised that I had no idea how to cook, and the recipes I ended up using were either full of obscure ingredients, or simply did not work! So I set up BarkingBaking.com. I post loads of recipes (now about 150) that are easy to follow, easy to use, and actually work when you follow them.
For the ingredients and method of each recipe, follow the link in the title to my website.
Here are some of my favourite recipes going into the winter months:
This really was absolutely fabulous. The list of ingredients looks daunting but it really isn’t that bad. There is something deliciously decadent about a good cheesecake and this will not disappoint. The recipe originally comes from the Gü Cookbook; there is no such thing as too much chocolate. If it lasts that long, it can stay in the fridge (covered) for about a week.
Super Easy Chocolate Bread and Butter Pudding
This is, in my mind, one of the ultimate student puddings. It is cheap to make, super tasty, quick and can be made for just one person. As you will see (click the link), I have done it in a ramekin; not only does it look awesome but it means there is less washing up. I am not about that. If you are more of a traditionalist, don’t add the chocolate but maybe a squeeze of lemon instead. Fab.
A two minute cake! Plenty to choose from on the website but I am a bit of a fan of the Honey and Coffee Cake in a Cup. If you are feeling at all fluey, make a cake in a cup and you’ll be better in no time! Remember the old saying: feed a cold, starve a fever! Just eat cake!
More to come next Saturday…
